Nintendo held a special Treehouse Live stream today, both to show off some of Paper Mario: The Origami King and to reveal a new game from Shantae developer WayForward. Nintendo previously said that it would be based on an existing third-party property, so that got the Nintendo IP expectations out of the way, but I still don’t think everyone was prepared for what the game ended up being.
As it turns out, WayForward is teaming up with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Spin Master to develop a new Bakugan game. Bakugan: Champions of Vestroia is an action-RPG that’s on the way to Switch exclusively on November 3, and you can see some footage in the videos below.
Here’s the announcement trailer:
And the Treehouse Live segment:
In addition to the digital release, there will be a physical Deluxe Edition that packs the game with an exclusive Ultima Dragonoid toy, trading card, metal gate card, and two BakuCores.
So… was this what you expected? Let us know what you thought about the reveal!
